Question of Bullying and Harassment
Early 2009, we conducted a questionnaire about our ability to deal with complaints regarding bullying, violence and harassment experienced by service users, and to identify improvements we could make. It is important to us that complaints procedures work well because any form of bullying is unacceptable, and we want to encourage those affected to come forward so we can stop it happening.
Results
-
19 service users took part in the survey, and over half (10) said they had suffered from some form of bullying and harassment; of these, six had actually made a complaint.
-
Five of these six complaints said it was easy to make the complaint, and that BCHA respected their views when deciding what to do.
-
All respondents said BCHA respected their privacy during the investigation and that they were made to feel safe and supported.
-
All but one stated that BCHA dealt with the complaint as well as they had hoped.
A big thank you to everyone who helped with this questionnaire survey.
