BCHA provides a direct access support service for people who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence and abuse. This can include anyone who has left refuge accommodation but who remains in need of on-going support for the issues they're still facing. Our services are delivered by a specialised Domestic Violence outreach worker and managed by professionals who are leaders in understanding the issues. Anyone who comes to us will be given information on the services they can access to support them effectively. We offer access groups and therapeutic care to help someone come to terms with their experience. We offer support and encouragement to develop a greater sense of self worth and self esteem - helping people move from victim to survivor. We try to enable them to take control of all aspects of daily living and moving out of violence into a healthier, safer life. We encourage crime to be reported but can also intervene in crisis situations that may lead to crime, homelessness or child protection issues. We work with a range of support and services, reducing contact with CJS. We try to help relationships between adults and children through improved communication and understanding. We also offer free education opportunities, to enhance the opportunities for new employment. Our Independent Domestic Violence Advisers work with individuals who are at high risk of harm; The will support those who are most vulnerable through courts and other agency involvement. Advocating on their behalf making sure their voice, feelings and concerns are at the centre of any actions that are taken. If you'd like to know more, contact us on: |
