Make the Change

In Somerset, we run a Make the Change Programme – a structured group work intervention programme for male voluntary participants, designed to address abusive behaviour in relationships.

The aims of the programme are to:

• Halt or avoid the use of violence within a relationship
• Halt the use of abusive and controlling behaviour within a relationship
• Create awareness of the devastating effects of abuse and violence on families
• Help participants deal with arguments without resorting to abuse
• Increase confidence and self respect
• Give people the skills to help you have a positive and healthy relationship with their partner and any children
• Provide support and safety advice for both men and their partners, both during and for a period after, completion of the course.

The programme runs over 26 sessions on a weekly basis, one two hour session per week.

Please contact us for more information about the programme and how it can help, or how to make a referral for yourself or a client.
