What about male sufferers of violence at home? One in six men experience domestic violence and abuse. Our 24 hour domestic violence helpline is available to men too. And our refuge in Poole can accommodate a male and his family fleeing domestic abuse. If our refuge is full, we can refer you to another safe and secure refuge. If you've found the courage to call our 24 hour domestic violence helpline, we can give you advice on what your options are. As well as listening and providing emotional support, we can advise you on the safest way to leave an abusive situation. We can also inform you of your rights and where to obtain legal information if required. While you are living with us, we help you regain your confidence and rebuild your life. And we keep supporting you after you leave the refuge by providing outreach services and support in your new home.
