We provide safe and secure accommodation for women and children fleeing domestic violence in refuges, which are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We run three domestic violence refuges (Bournemouth, Poole and North Dorset) where we provide women with practical and emotional support. One of our refuges provides accommodation for a man and his family. .

A key worker is assigned to each woman (or man) staying with us, to provide emotional and practical support during their stay.

During their stay at the refuge, we teach women about self worth, confidence, taking control, making choices, independence and provide them with tools to use when they move back into independent housing.

We also help children affected by domestic violence come to terms with their experiences.

But our support doesn't stop there. We can continue to provide support in the woman's new home if required.

If you're living in a violent or abusive relationship and you need to access advice, information, support or accommodation, ring one of the BCHA 24 hour helplines:
