Your donation will change someone’s life

Our work with people facing significant personal challenges has shown us that there is no 'type' of person, and lots of different reasons why someone can find themselves in need of our help.

When people feel vulnerable or don’t know where to turn, we equip them to find a way forward through accommodation, practical help, education, specialist support, and some personal encouragement. Our job isn't simply to point someone in the right direction; it is to walk with them towards it.

There are many ways you can donate to BCHA and every penny will make a big difference:

Regular giving

Regular donations make a huge difference to the support we can give. If you would like to make a regular donation please click here to download our Standing Order Form or alternatively, you can sign up to Virgin Money Giving to set up a regular donation.

Legacy

By remembering BCHA in your Will you will make a huge difference to someone’s life as part of your legacy. However big or small, your donation will make a difference.

It could help provide hot meals, clothing and emergency shelter, help families and individuals to settle in their new home, or help someone to access training and support to help them get into work. A large donation could help us to provide more accommodation to those in need, over time giving many people a place to call home and a chance of independence.

'In memory' donations

'In memory' donations are a positive way to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one, while helping BCHA to make a positive difference to the lives of many people.

Making a donation in memory of a loved one

If you would like to give in memory of a friend or relative:

  • You can make the arrangements through a funeral director
  • If you prefer to make a single 'in memory' donation online please click here to visit our Virgin Money Giving page
  • Alternatively, if you wish to make a regular donation please click here to complete our standing order form

Requesting donations in your memory

Lots of people prefer that people make a charity donation in their name instead of sending floral tributes which can quickly fade. If this is what you would prefer it is a good idea to let your family and the executors of your Will know of your wishes, or to include it in the details about your funeral.

Non-financial donations

We don’t just need financial donations; there are many things that you can give that will make a huge difference to those we support. For example:

  • Shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant
  • Socks and underwear (new)
  • Hats, scarves and gloves
  • Writing paper, pens and stamps (so as people can keep in touch with family and friends)
  • Art and craft materials
  • Warm clothing such as jumpers and coats
  • Shoes
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Children’s toys for all ages (new)
  • Towels (new or good quality second hand)
  • Dog food and biscuits – some people in our schemes have dogs
  • A nice treat, for example, a box of biscuits or a bar of chocolate

 Raffle and auction prizes

We often hold raffles and auctions at events to help us raise money, so we are always looking for prizes.

If you have any items that would make a nice prize, for example, an unwanted present, a service or product, or an experience that you can offer, then we would be very grateful to receive them.

Contact our Fundraising Manager if you have any items that you would like to donate to BCHA:
