Our work with people facing significant personal challenges has shown us that there is no one type of person. In fact there are many different reasons why someone can find themselves in need of our help.
When people feel vulnerable or don’t know where to turn, we equip them to find a way forward through accommodation, practical help, education, specialist support, as well as personal encouragement. Our job isn't simply to point someone in the right direction, it is to walk alongside them towards it.
There are many ways you can donate to BCHA and every penny will make a difference:
- One-off donation
- Regular giving
- Legacy
- 'In memory' donations
- Charity gift aid
- Non-financial donations
- Raffle and auction prizes
One-off donation
Online
Visit our Just Giving page and donate online in a few simple steps.
By phone
Please call our Customer Services on 01202 410500 to make a donation over the phone. They will be able to take your call Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
By cheque
Please make your cheque payable to BCHA and send it to: Fundraising, BCHA, The Factory 14 Alder Hills, Poole, BH12 4AS.
Regular giving
Regular donations help us provide support. If you would like to make a regular donation please download our Standing Order Form.
Legacy
By remembering BCHA in your will you can make a big difference to someone’s life as part of your legacy, no matter how large or small your donation.
It could help provide hot meals, clothing and emergency shelter, help families and individuals to settle in their new home, or give someone the opportunity to access training and support to help them get into work.
A large donation could even help us to provide more accommodation to those in need, over time giving many people a place to call home and a chance of independence.
If you would like to find out more about the work of BCHA or about leaving a gift or legacy to BCHA in your will, please contact Customer Services on 01202 410500. Or email: fundraising@bcha.org.uk
In memory donations
In memory donations are a positive way to remember and celebrate the life of a loved one, while helping BCHA to make a positive difference to the lives of many people.
If you would like to give in memory of a friend or relative:
- You can make the arrangements through a funeral director
- If you prefer to make a single in memory donation online please visit our Just Giving page
- Alternatively, if you wish to make a regular donation please complete our standing order form
Requesting donations in your memory
If you would prefer people to make a charity donation in your memory instead of sending floral tributes, it's a good idea to let your family and the executors of your will know of your wishes, or to include it in the details about your funeral.
Charity gift aid
You can download either a PDF or Word Doc version of the charity gift aid declaration form.
Non-financial donations
We don’t just need financial donations; there are many things that you can give that can help those we support. For example:
- Shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant
- Socks and underwear (new)
- Hats, scarves and gloves
- Writing paper, pens and stamps (so as people can keep in touch with family and friends)
- Art and craft materials
- Warm clothing such as jumpers and coats
- Shoes
- Non-perishable food items
- Children’s toys for all ages (new)
- Towels (new or good quality second hand)
- Dog food and biscuits – some people in our schemes have dogs
- A nice treat, for example, a box of biscuits or a bar of chocolate
Raffle and auction prizes
We often hold raffles and auctions at events to help us raise money, so we are always looking for prizes.
An unwanted present, a service or product, or an experience that you can offer, all make good prizes and we would be very grateful to receive them.
If you have any items that you would like to donate to BCHA, please contact Customer Services on: 01202 410500. Or email: fundraising@bcha.org.uk
