As part of BCHA’s commitment to building valued and supported teams, we are proud to announce that 16 of our colleagues have recently completed their Liberating Leadership training. BCHA have now had 40 leaders accredited across the organisation.

The training aims to develop our leaders and managers to boost their skills and confidence when it comes to managing their teams. The course works one on one with individuals to identify their key strengths and weaknesses and how best to lead their teams.

At BCHA, we pride ourselves on investing in our teams and their leaders.

Laura Jump, BCHA’s Director of Transformation, said “Last year we were delighted to appoint some new leaders through internal promotion and the Liberating Leadership course gave us a chance to support them in those new roles.

"At BCHA we have committed to creating 'valued and supported teams' and continuing professional development for leaders is a critical part of that.”

The course was delivered over 6 weeks with weekly workshops, culminating at the end of July. One leader who has completed the training is Daisy, Outreach and Hub Referrals Service Co-ordinator for the Plymouth Area.

Daisy said “My experience of the Liberating Leadership training was so positive. Suzanna, our trainer, was really friendly, helpful and took a genuine interest in our current experiences and what we wanted from the course. At the start of the training, we had to complete a motivational map, which showed us our strengths and weaknesses and mine was so on point it was almost scary!"

"It was very clever and interesting to see while also giving a good starting point in terms of discovering what we could get out of the training.”

Claire, who completed the training alongside Daisy, said “Suzanna was absolutely incredible with delivering the training. Before the training, I felt that I struggled with being assertive as a leader but I have done a complete 360 with my mindset after Liberating Leadership. The training has been invaluable – both professionally and personally – and I am looking forward to putting it into action as I progress my career with BCHA."

BCHA pride ourselves on being a learning organisation and are proactive in developing our teams’ skills, behaviours and knowledge to achieve professional and personal qualifications.
