We are delighted BCHA was shortlisted in the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Deal of the Year category at the 2026 South West Dealmakers Awards.

The nomination recognises the innovative £10 million funding agreement secured with Lloyds Banking Group in late 2025, which will support BCHA's ambition to deliver up to 300 new affordable homes by 2029.  Although the awards were recently announced and we were not winners of this category, we still feel honoured to have been part of this partnership which enabled us to be shortlisted.

The funding forms part of Lloyds Banking Group's pioneering partnership with Homewards, a programme from The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, which is working with communities across the UK to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated. Through the partnership, Lloyds committed £50 million in new lending to support housing providers and charities in Homewards locations, helping organisations overcome barriers to accessing finance and increasing the supply of affordable housing.

BCHA was awarded £10 million of this funding, enabling us to accelerate our development programme and create much-needed affordable homes across the communities we serve.

At a time when Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole faces some of the highest levels of homelessness outside London, the investment represents a significant step towards providing more people with a safe, secure place to call home.

Simon Haskell, Director Finance, BCHA said;

“We were delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious award. While we are proud to have been recognised through this nomination, the real achievement is the opportunity it creates for more individuals and families to access affordable, secure housing and build brighter futures.”

Building Homes Through Partnership

The shortlist recognition highlights the strength of the collaborative approach between BCHA, Lloyds Banking Group and Homewards, demonstrating how partners can work together to create lasting social impact.

Chris Nicholson, Chair, BCHA Board, said;

“Our collaborative working with both Lloyds Bank and Homewards demonstrates true partnership working and will give more people a home and help end homelessness.

We would like to thank Lloyds Banking Group and Homewards for their continued support and partnership as we work together to help end homelessness and create thriving communities.”
