After more than 9 years of dedicated service, Martin Lucas, BCHA’s Director of Finance, is retiring.
Martin joined BCHA on 7th November 2016, bringing with him a long and distinguished career in social housing finance. During his time as Director of Finance, he has been an integral part of the organisation, steering our financial stability to support staff and ensure vital services can reach those facing great hardship.
“BCHA is a unique and special organisation that is inspirational in delivering many incredible services to support people who are often facing significant challenges in their lives. Now after over 9 years at BCHA I have decided that it’s time to move to a new chapter of life and retire. It’s been a privilege to serve alongside many great colleagues, peers and partners in the pursuit of making a difference to people’s lives.” Martin said.
Lorraine Mealings, CEO of BCHA, commended Martin’s enduring commitment to the organisation and its services in a farewell speech with fellow colleagues.
“Martin has worked quietly, behind the scenes, for almost 9-and-a-half years, helping maintain our position as a viable business, and a really reliable provider. He should be really proud of what he’s personally achieved and what his team has achieved. A big, big thank you on behalf of everybody. I have loved working with Martin, as I’m sure everyone here has also.”
Martin has passed the baton to the new Director of Finance. “I am pleased to welcome Simon Haskell to BCHA. Simon comes with a wealth of housing finance experience, and I wish him every success in continuing the great work.”
Thank you, Martin, for your long-standing commitment to the essential work of the social housing sector, and your leadership and expertise in guiding BCHA for more than 9 years. We wish you a very happy and fulfilling retirement.
