Coming to Boscombe Chine Gardens on Friday 7th August, you can find an eclectic mix of local organisations from the BCP area.
Held from 1pm till 4pm, the event promises an action-packed day, with activities like yoga, dance lessons and even circus skills booked to help boost your physical and mental health.
The FREE, family-friendly event, is organise by southwest-based charitable housing association BCHA and brings together local organisations that support communities in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. All organisations taking part are dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing.
Jamie Clarke, BCHA Learn Manager who has been key to organising the festival, said: “I have been involved with the BCHA Festival of Wellbeing since it started back in 2014, and is always one of the highlights of my year. Seeing the local community come together and celebrate wellbeing is such a great thing to be part of. We are really looking forwards to seeing everyone taking part in all of the fantastic activities that are being provided.”
The event is alcohol-free, making it the perfect event to attend with children and keep them busy during the summer holidays. The festival will cover crucial steps to wellbeing: connecting with others, getting active, learning skills and paying attention to the present moment. These steps are all key for slowing down and practicing mindfulness in a busy, modern society.
Some of the amazing organisations signed up to attend the festival include:
- Pavillion South West, who will be providing dance sessions,
- Christchurch Slackline and Circus School who will be teaching how to tightrope and other circus skills,
- Create Your Community leading yoga sessions.
These activities are all held alongside stalls, including Access Wellbeing, Bournemouth Foodbank and Steps to Wellbeing.
This is only a snapshot of the vast range of organisations taking part. BCHA will also have a host of stands, including teams from BCHA Learn who will be on hand to talk adult education and qualifications we can support with, plus our recruitment advisor to discuss employment opportunities.
There’ll also be hair braiding, face glitter and much, much more!
We can't wait to see you there. If you are a local business and would like to host a stall at the festival, or have any queries about the event, please email [email protected].
