It is with great sadness that we remember Peter Kegg, who passed away in late August.
Peter worked at BCHA as the Chief Executive for just over 7 years, moving the organisation into the new millennium after his joining in 1999. He was passionate about supporting those facing homelessness and was someone who wanted to make a practical difference, which is evidenced in his legacy at BCHA.
Peter was a strong advocate for housing and homelessness, and from 1986 – 1987 took his role as President of the Chartered Institute of Housing. In 2005, Peter provided comment to The Guardian on the importance of keeping supported housing services funded. Lorraine Mealings, current BCHA CEO said "I had the pleasure of working with Peter when he was CEO of BCHA during my time working at the Local Authority. What a lovely man he was, and so motivated to help people who were facing hardships."
BCHA would like to recognise the significant and positive impact his work made to the lives of our customers and would like to share their sincere condolences with his many friends, family and loved ones. Peter will be sorely missed by us all.
