The Liberty Project supports potential survivors of modern-day slavery and human trafficking. At BCHA we cover the South West, supporting clients in our safe houses, as well as in outreach. We support clients who have been referred into the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
Working with The Salvation Army via the modern slavery victim care contract (MSVCC), survivors are referred to support providers who offer specialist support, such as the Liberty project.
We support in a variety of areas, such as, accommodation, accessing legal services, criminal proceedings, mental health, physical health, training, education for dependents. Our specialist support workers offer a bespoke service, enabling them to live a life free from abuse, and gain the skills and confidence to live independently.
This year the Liberty project has refurbished one of the safe houses and the service now offers free modern slavery training.
