During 2020 more than 17500 chain store outlets were lost from our high streets nationally. The face of the high street is changing dramatically. With people altering their shopping habits to purchase more online and less in retail shops, the vision of a post Covid high street is very different. It’s becoming an experiential arena for customers to enjoy eateries, coffee shops, themed pop-up food outlets and galleries. This will cause a substantial and well needed growth area within the hospitality and leisure sector.
In response to this, BCHA’s free At Your Service programme will offer unemployed people the chance to gain new skills, refresh existing skills and gain experience and qualifications to equip them to return to work in one of the most important growth areas.
Who can join the programme?
If you are unemployed and living in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) area in Dorset, At Your Service can give you real hands on kitchen experience, the chance to showcase your skills to an employer and the tailored support you need to get you back on the pathway to work.
What will you gain?
At no cost to you, come and join the programme and gain training in sector specific skills to increase your chance of finding and sustaining employment. Engage in exciting and innovative practical courses, such as:
- Accredited City and Guilds Level 2 Food and Hygiene
- Covid-19 safety training
- Barista training
- Level 2 Certificate in Customer Service
- Level 2 Certificate in Personal Development for Employability
- Level 2 Health and Safety at Work
- Food preparation
