The project will provide a range of education, training and support to help you become more active, healthier and less isolated; enabling you to cope more effectively with everyday life pressures. Consequently, the project aims to increase your chances of achieving and sustaining independent living.
How can The Growth Project help me?
The ‘Growth Project’ will deliver engaging activities and workshops that are tailored to your needs. These will be delivered by professionals who hold a track record of successfully delivering to individuals who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.
The activities within this 6 week programme include:
Fruit and vegetable growing, wildlife conservation, stress less methods, plant identification and propagation, mindfulness and building houses for birds and hedgehogs.
The activities undertaken are based on four recognised elements of wellbeing. They do not include every nuance of what's important in life, but they do represent four broad categories that are essential to most people. These are:
- The first element focuses on improving Emotional and Mental Wellbeing
- The second element focuses on improving Physical Wellbeing.
- The third element focuses on improving Social Wellbeing
- The fourth element focuses on improving Meaningful Use of Time.
We will even provide you with a nutritious free meal and pay for travel expenses if needed !
What will be expected of me?
If you sign up to The Growth Project then you will be expected to attend an induction meeting where you will learn more about the programme and all of the planned activities involved.
Once you have done this, the decision is yours as to whether you want to jump on board!
Who can sign up to The Growth Project?
Anyone who is over the age of 19 facing a wide range of issues, such as mental health, learning difficulties, unemployment, substance misuse, social isolation and those with low or no qualifications.
