If you want to play a clear role in improving services for all BCHA customers, have a broad range of skills, and have some spare time to commit every month, then the Customer Scrutiny Panel could be for you.
Being a member of the panel is a real opportunity for our customers to influence how we work at BCHA. It is a varied and challenging role, but it enables you to have a big impact and help us to continually improve the services we deliver.
The Customer Scrutiny Panel is a group of residents or tenants that challenges BCHA on behalf of all of our customers. The panel reviews feedback that we receive from customer surveys and complaints, and they monitor our performance, to make sure all residents receive the highest possible standards of service.
Where members of the panel feel an area of BCHA is underperforming, they carry out an investigation to find out the strengths and weaknesses of that area. Then they make recommendations for improvement direct to our Board.
Why should I be part of the panel?
Being a part of our Customer Scrutiny Panel will give you some really useful experience and skills that are easily transferable to non-housing situations. The skills and knowledge that you build up will help you develop as a person, and will be something you can add to your CV. It’s also a great opportunity to work as part of a team and share responsibilities.
Training and personal development
We recognise that being a member of the Customer Scrutiny Panel may be a big jump from anything you might have done before, even more so if this is the first time you have decided to get involved with BCHA.
To support you in your new role we will provide:
- An induction programme
- A personalised training programme
- Administrative support
- An experienced and supportive Chair
In addition you will have the full support of Board members and BCHA’s Senior Staff Team to help you carry out your role.
