Whether you have access to the internet at home or not, most people claiming universal credit will be expected to manage their claim online. That means, in order to apply for universal credit or to receive information regarding your benefit entitlement, you will need an active email address.

To sign up you will need to follow a few simple steps - be sure to select that you would like the free email account. All the above providers offer similar features, are constantly being developed to make them as easy to use as possible, and have a degree of built-in safety features to filter out any unwanted emails (called spam).
