Helping you to gain experience in the workplace

Our Workplace Training and Development Course supports unemployed young people within Bournemouth to gain the skills and experience that they need to find the job they want.

The programme provides work experience placements, and focuses on helping people to develop good communication skills and other attributes that make an effective worker.

How can the course help me?

Our Workplace Training and Development Course will give you the opportunity to:

  • Gain a nationally recognised NOCN Level 1 Certificate that includes employability and workplace related elements such as customer service and communication skills
  • Develop functional skills and achieve a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy if you do not already have one
  • Secure a workplace experience which is tailored to you and your career aspirations and needs. You will continue to receive support from our friendly team of tutors during your work placement

We will also help you with your job search, supporting you to move your career in the right direction.

What will be expected of me?

If you sign up to this course you will be expected to attend an induction session where you will be able to discuss all the options available to you with one of our tutors.

You will also be required to commit to attend learning sessions, and your work placement, at the agreed time and dates. We will reimburse any travel costs you encounter.

Who can sign up to the course?

This course is run in Bournemouth, and is for young people aged 16-18 who are unemployed and looking for an opportunity to develop their skills and gain experience in the workplace.
