Efforts to help people experiencing homelessness in Plymouth were given a welcome boost when Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Housing and Rough Sleeping, Eddie Hughes, met with leaders of the Plymouth Alliance in the city on 17 August.

The MP spent the day in Plymouth, seeing first-hand how the Plymouth Alliance is having a positive impact by supporting system change, helping to deliver better services for people with complex needs who have been rough sleeping in the city.

Eddie Hughes MP was also given a tour of George House, an award-winning service that provides 46 units of accommodation, along with education and training facilities, for single homeless people for up to six months.

BCHA is one of seven core members of the Plymouth Alliance, which coordinates a complex needs system to enable people to receive the right help in the right place. The Alliance is dedicated to improving the lives of people with complex needs, with Partners providing housing advice and support – paving the way for the transition to into settled accommodation, along with treatment and support for substance use.
